Meet Riitta-Ilona Koivumaeki, our new CIPR Post-Doc fellow

Riitta-Ilona Koivumaeki studies the relations between the state and multinational corporations in contemporary Latin America. She is currently writing a book that analyzes how well institutional constraints of the neoliberal era have succeeded in protecting the property rights of foreign investors in the region. She is also working on related research projects on the power of international law, and the politics of natural resources.
An article based on her dissertation research has been accepted for publication in Comparative Politics. She has an article in Journal of Politics in Latin America, and a book chapter in The Resilience of the Latin American Right, edited by Cristóbal Rovira Kaltwasser and Juan Pablo Luna (Johns Hopkins University Press, 2014).

Koivumaeki will receive her PhD from The University of Texas in August, 2015.
