Latin American and Caribbean Economics Association (LACEA) Launches Web Forum

Editors of VoxLACEA, the web forum of the Latin American and Caribbean Economics Association, including Tulane University’s Dr. Nora Lustig from the Department of Economics and also CIPR Research Fellow, announced the official launch of Vox.Lacea.Org on Wednesday, Feb 9, 2011.

VoxLACEA or Vox.Lacea.Org, a policy portal for research-based policy analysis and commentary by leading scholars on the region’s economic outlook, allows interested readers to stay up-to-date on the latest research-and policy-based analyses of Latin America and the Caribbean. Membership is available to those wanting to participate in online forums and comment on articles.

As VoxLACEA aims to raise the level of policy debate by providing a platform for researchers to present policy implications of their work and researchers to learn about policy debates in the region, audience participation and feedback is vital, and encouraged. The portal, as an independent economic discussion forum enriched by individual contributions, institutional reports and self-produced data, welcomes economists of all nationalities, theoretical orientations and policy perspectives.
