Enrique Peruzzotti is a Visiting Fellow at Tulane University’s Center for Inter-American Policy and Research (CIPR ). He holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from the New School for Social Research. His research interests include civil society politics, democratic accountability, and contemporary populism, with a geographical focus on Latin America. His most recent article is “Contrasting Modern and Contemporary Populist Regimes. From Democratization to Democratic Hybridization,” published in Populism (2022). He has received the Guggenheim and Fulbright Fellowships and was visiting fellow at the Woodrow Wilson Center and the National Endowment for Democracy. While in CIPR, he will be working on a book manuscript on Latin American debates on democratization.
