CIPR SPRING SERIES: CONTEMPORARY CHALLENGES TO LATIN AMERICAN DEMOCRACIES

The Spring 2026 CIPR Speaker Series examines four critical dimensions of democratic governance in contemporary Latin America, bringing together leading scholars whose research illuminates how structural inequalities, violence, economic constraints, and environmental pressures shape political representation and citizen-state relations across the region. Together, these sessions offer a comprehensive analysis of the interconnected challenges facing Latin American democracies, bridging insights from comparative politics, political economy, sociology, and development studies to understand contemporary challenges to Latin American Democracies. All talks are at 12:30 in the Greenleaf Conference Room.
